Teens at the Geffen: An Evening with George Mayer

Updated: May 12

In April, club members from Narbonne High School’s teen mentoring group had the opportunity to visit the Geffen Playhouse in Westwood through thanks to our longstanding BGCLAH supporter George Mayer.

They watched Master Harold...and the Boys, a 1982 play by Athol Fugard set in apartheid-era South Africa. After the show, the group had thoughtful conversations and shared their reflections.

Narbonne staff say this field trip gave teens a chance to connect, grow, and see the world in new ways. It is part of their ongoing effort to offer learning experiences outside the classroom.

Thank you to the George Mayer for continuing to be there for our Club kids, to the Geffen Playhouse, and the staff who chaperoned. It’s because of you that we are able to do what we do.
