Where Art Inspires Change
Going beyond our group arts and crafts program, our fine arts instruction helps our more talented youth develop their skills. Expert fine arts education for youth, ages 6 – 18, focuses on output and artistic skill building with professional tools and creative inspiration from master works. Artistic representations from several genres and time periods are studied to inspire students to create their own unique works.
ART MAKES A REAL IMPACT
Our music program has always excelled in providing quality education. Instruction from expert musicians offers real world performance skill building along with lessons in reading and writing music. Lessons range from private instruction to opportunities to participate in a classical ensemble, jazz band or rock band.
Starting with ballet star, Misty Copeland, our Club has always had a love of dance. Instruction for youth includes classical ballet at the Elementary level while teens are given the opportunity to explore other genres such as Contemporary, Hip-Hop and Latin.
Our Fine Arts Program has opportunities for students in the fields of fine arts, ceramics, painting, crafts, photography, film, and graphic arts.
Meet the Artists
"The opportunity to be on stage and perform with the Club helped me discover that dance was my passion. It allowed me to be free and put aside all the stress I was undergoing due to school. I was allowed to enhance
my self-esteem and acquired
The music room is one of the most magical places in the Club. It is a place where people bond and learn through music; It's one of my safe places. My love for music grows more as I continuously learn about the different aspects of it. It is because of the Arts Program that I've had the opportunity to explore my passions, gain leadership skills, and build relationships that will help me throughout my future."
The Wilmingtones feature members from our Wilmington Site. They play a variety of genres, and have recently even incorporated fashion into their music by styling the members in the outfits relating to their music.
"Music isn't offered in schools anymore, and are pretty expensive to get private lessons. At the Club, my son is learning how to play guitar- which is something he never would have experience without the Club. He wants to practice all the time and it's helping teaching him that if you practice and work hard, then you get better. It's helping his work ethic."
