Cynthia: At the San Pedro site, Cynthia is making the most of her first summer camp as an incoming middle schooler. This summer, she has embraced the creative process, learning how to turn ideas into reality while building skills she'll carry into middle school. Cynthia's positive attitude and enthusiasm make her a joy to have at camp. She eagerly participates in every art project, shares creative ideas, and is always willing to help others. Her dedication and kindness make her a wonderful role model throughout the club. Congratulations, Cynthia, on being our Member of the Month! Keep up the amazing work!
Zack: At the Harbor City site, this is Zach’s first summer at camp, and he has embraced every moment with excitement and curiosity. From the very first art project, Zach has eagerly jumped into each new challenge, always excited to explore different artistic styles and techniques. One of the highlights of his day is proudly sharing his finished creations with his mom and dad, and his smile says it all. Zach’s enthusiasm, creativity, and positive attitude have brought a special energy to the art room. Watching his confidence grow with each project has been incredibly rewarding, and his joy for creating has inspired those around him.
Aubrey: This summer, the Wilmington Site welcomed new and returning members from Kindergarten through 5th grade for a season full of creativity, learning, and fun. Our young artists had the chance to explore their imagination, try new crafts, and discover the joy of creating something uniquely their own. Among our talented members was 10-year-old Audrey whose love for arts and crafts brought so much enthusiasm and creativity to our summer activities. Her artistic spirit and willingness to explore inspired those around her and reminded us of the magic that happens when children are encouraged to express themselves.
Summer Camp
This summer, our Arts Department explored the many exciting ways creativity comes to life. Members discovered how art and STEM intersect through hands-on activities like 3D printing, experimented with a variety of crafting techniques, and found inspiration by experiencing art beyond the classroom.
Through engaging workshops, interactive projects, and exciting field trips, our members enjoyed a summer full of creativity, learning, and fun. We are proud of all they accomplished and invite you to take a look at some of our favorite summer creations!
Summer Arts Programming
Throughout our six-week Summer Art Program, members unleashed their creativity through daily hands-on projects and explored a new artistic theme each week. This variety allowed participants to discover a wide range of creative styles, techniques, and mediums while building confidence and expressing their unique ideas.
Throughout the summer, members experimented with painting, sewing, jewelry-making, STEAM-inspired art, special effects makeup, and imaginative crafts created from repurposed materials. From designing colorful felt banners to crafting spirited game day bows, each project offered a fun and engaging opportunity to learn something new.
Every activity was thoughtfully designed to encourage creativity, strengthen fine motor skills, inspire problem-solving, and foster self-expression. As members explored new artistic techniques and challenged their imaginations, they developed valuable skills, celebrated their individual talents, and created lasting memories through a summer filled with creativity, learning, and fun.
