Music, Arts & Career Bound Highlights. What We Did for the Month of April 2026

Bread, Butter, & Ballads was a cozy, café-style music event held on April 15, 2026.

The showcase featured modern radio hits reimagined as beautiful ballads, along with a special vocal spotlight highlighting talented singers accompanied by piano and guitar.

Guests enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere with sandwiches, baguettes, tea, and more, perfectly paired with live music and warm café vibes. Open to friends, family, and the community, the evening brought together great food and even better music.

A special thank you to our dedicated music staff, Mr. Oscar, for organizing such a memorable event!

This Earth Day, our teen celebrated in a hands-on and meaningful way, taking part in workshops that deepened their appreciation for the planet we all share. It was inspiring to see them not just learn about sustainability, but put it into practice.

Highlights of the Day

  • Hands-on Workshops: Engaging activities focused on environmental stewardship.

  • Sustainable Swap Meet: Members “shopped” donated clothing, styled new outfits, and found some amazing hidden gems.

  • Creative Upcycling: Designing one-of-a-kind pins using recycled bottle caps!

What made the experience even more impactful was how each activity connected to a bigger purpose; showing how small, everyday choices can make a real difference. It was a day filled with creativity, curiosity, and intention, and it’s exciting to see the next generation so engaged in caring for our planet.

Career Bound Workshops:

April was a month full of hands-on learning and continued growth for Career Bound members. Across our locations, teens engaged in interactive workshops, project-based activities, one-on-one case management sessions focused on strengthening skills and building personal confidence, earned internship placements, and studied towards their driving permits!

Key Areas of Focus:

  • Career Exploration: Exploring a range of career pathways.

  • Goal Setting: Refining and updating their personal and professional goals.

  • Skill Building: Taking meaningful steps toward their futures through active engagement.

Their consistent engagement and commitment highlight how practical experiences, personalized support, and strong guidance systems come together to create real momentum and growth.

Kaiser Permanente Summer Internship Program

And last but not least, we are proud to recognize four outstanding members: Kimberly, Aileen, Helen, and Deily, who have earned placements in the Kaiser Permanente Summer Internship Program, alongside three other participants from our organization!

Their selection reflects their hard work, dedication, and commitment to growth. We are excited to see them continue building their skills in a professional healthcare environment this summer.

From creative expression to professional milestones, it is truly inspiring to witness our members' growth, dedication, and the bright futures they are building every single day. See you next month! 🙌
