CAREER BOUND MAY 2026 HIGHLIGHTS

As graduation season approaches, Career Bound members continued making meaningful strides throughout May as seniors prepare for their next chapter after high school. From applying for summer internships to strengthening skills and finalizing post-secondary plans, our members are taking important steps toward building successful futures.

We are excited to celebrate our graduating seniors and support them as they transition into college, careers, training programs, and new opportunities. Thanks to the ongoing support of dedicated staff, school partners, donors, and community and industry partners, our members continue to have access to experiences, mentorship, and resources that help them grow.

May served as a reminder that when young people are surrounded by encouragement and opportunity, they are empowered to take confident steps toward their goals.

Harbor Wellbeing Collective’s Community Resource Fair

During the Harbor Wellbeing Collective’s Community Resource Fair, we engaged with middle school members about the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between school, work, and personal well-being. Members were encouraged to explore future career paths that not only align with their goals and interests, but also support a positive and fulfilling lifestyle.

El Camino College’s Agents of Social Change

Oscar, Coordinator of the LA Harbor Workforce Center, proudly represented BGCLAH at El Camino College’s Agents of Social Change. The event brought together a diverse group of employers, universities, and community organizations committed to inspiring students to pursue meaningful careers that positively impact their communities.

The fair focused on students interested in behavioral and social sciences pathways, creating a space for networking, career exploration, and learning about opportunities in public service, education, and community-based work.

The Agents of Social Change fair exemplified the power of collaboration between educational institutions and community organizations.

Middle School Career Fair

This month, we participated in a Middle School Career Fair, where we showcased our Skilled Trades Program and shared opportunities available to members during high school. The event gave youth a chance to explore future pathways and learn more about the programs and support our organization offers.

Opportunities like these help us continue making a positive impact as we empower students to grow, succeed, and lead the way for future generations.
