Congratulations to Issac and CJ for receiving the first music scholarships in our program's 20 year history!
Jose Gutierrez, Director of Music and Performing Arts
This year marked a historic milestone for the Boys & Girls Club of the Los Angeles Harbor Music Program as we awarded our very first music scholarships in the program’s 20-year history!
The recipients of these inaugural scholarships were Club Members Issac and CJ, two outstanding students who have demonstrated dedication, leadership, and passion throughout their time in the program.
CJ has been involved in the music program for the past two years while also participating in the San Pedro Boys & Girls Club College Bound Program and Digital Arts Program.
Issac has been part of the music program since 3rd grade, beginning at Harry Bridges as a Marching Bulldog and concluding his journey as a member of the band “Subliminal” and Banning High School’s Mighty Marching Pilot’s.
These scholarships represent the positive impact of music education and the opportunities it can create for our students. Thank you to all of the music staff who have supported not only these scholarship recipients, but all graduating music students in the class of 2026!
