On May 27, BGCLAH hosted its first organization-wide BGCLAH Graduation. It brought together Career Bound, College Bound, and other Boys & Girls Club programs to celebrate all of our graduating members under one roof.
Alongside the myriad scholarships awarded during the evening, BGCLAH made history by introducing two new awards for paths that had not previously been recognized.
Damien received our first-ever Skilled Trades Scholarship for his commitment to his future career. And for the first time in the Music Program’s twenty-year history, music scholarships were awarded to two graduating Club Members: Issac and CJ.
The introduction of these scholarships shows the strong connections members have created with the Club. Issac joined the Music Program in third grade, starting at Harry Bridges as a Marching Bulldog, then playing with his band Subliminal and Banning High School’s Mighty Marching Pilots. And CJ spent his past two years in the Music Program at the San Pedro Club Site and also participated in College Bound and Digital Arts, demonstrating his broad involvement in Club activities.
Alongside the scholarships, our graduation ceremony was honored to have County Supervisor Janice Hahn as a special guest speaker. She spoke to Club Members from across our organization about the significance of their graduation, sharing life lessons, including the importance of perseverance and community involvement.
This year’s BGCLAH 2026 Graduation stands out as the first event of its kind and was definitely one for the books! Thank you to all the graduating seniors, family members, and staff who joined us in making this day an incredibly rewarding experience.
From all of us at BGCLAH, congratulations! You did it!
