In the last few weeks, our San Pedro, Port of L.A. and Wilmington Clubhouses have been busy hosting career exposure events for our youth members in every age group.
San Pedro Club Career Panel – Our College Bound Kids program for elementary school youth included a career panel. Club members were able to hear from professionals in many fields from musicians and educators to a director of Homeland Security.
Port of L.A. Club Career Immersion – We invited professionals to give our middle school students a “hands-on” experience of different career fields. LAFD 112 volunteers attended with their gear for our students to try on. A veterinarian brought a well-behaved canine patient for our students to practice diagnosing an animal.
Wilmington Club Career Fair – An event for all ages, our Wilmington Club career fair was supported by Councilman Buscaino, LAPD and LAFD with guests from Mattel, USC, Haas Automation, LAUSD and Marinello School of Beauty.
