It has been almost a full two years since we started our Arts Academy offering Saturday instruction to our more advanced arts students. The focused, individual attention allows our more dedicated students to develop their skills as artists at no additional cost to their school-year membership fee.
On December 3, we hosted our Arts Academy Showcase at the Warner Grand Theatre to our biggest audience yet. Hundreds of parents, students and community supporters attended to see the fine arts gallery in the theatre lobby where our students displayed their works inspired by Vincent van Gogh. They then entered the theatre for performances by our Wilmington Club jazz band, our San Pedro Club string ensemble (these classical students had only picked up their instruments two months before performing!), San Pedro Club vocalists and our Wilmington Club rock band performing a “Motown” review. We also had a video game demonstration by our 3D animation and game design students.
