Fresh off of his Grammy performance, R&B artist Miguel visited his old stomping grounds at Dana Middle School on February 19 for a surprise performance at the annual talent show.
For the last three years, our Boys & Girls Club school site at Dana Middle School has coordinated the talent show, drawing hundreds of spectators every year. This year those spectators were stunned when after the participants had finished performing, Councilman Joe Buscaino took to the stage to introduce Miguel. His presence and generosity in performing a free concert was such an inspiration to the youth attending.
Miguel was once a Boys & Girls Club member, just like the talent show performers. He participated in our audio recording program at the San Pedro Boys & Girls Club, where he recorded some of his first songs.
Thank you, Miguel, for taking the time to return to San Pedro!
