As part of their MathMovesU initative, Raytheon celebrated Girls Day of National Engineers Week with our San Pedro Club members on February 23.
Female engineers visited to inspire our middle school girls to pursue careers in STEM.
Over 50 girls from San Pedro and Wilmington gathered to hear about the different career paths of the visiting engineers and watch a presentation about prominent women in STEM leadership. The engineers then guided our members in building homemade “Wigglebots.”
Raytheon ended the celebration with a donation of educational STEM books, school supplies and t-shirts to our members.
