Thanks to the support of generous organizations, our educational digital studio exposes youth to new creative avenues with professional equipment and resources. These programs, promote inventiveness and help teens develop skills that could lead to careers in growing multimedia fields.
In 2011, the Taco Bell Foundation for Teens and the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation selected the San Pedro Boys & Girls Club as the first of four Clubs across the nation to house a “Graduate to Go Studio.” Our film production program is open to all interested teens and provides instruction in script-writing, videography, film direction and editing with professional equipment. Students are given opportunities to enter their productions in local festivals and scholarship competitions to further their film careers.
Part of the “Graduate to Go Studio” by the Taco Bell Foundation for Teens and the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation, our audio recording studio is an excellent complement to our music education. Teens who wish to participate are provided with instruction in song-writing and voice before they record in the sound booth. Instruction in audio mixing and beat making prepares students for further education in audio production.
Design & 3D Animation
As the most recent addition to our multimedia studio, our design and 3D animation program is equipped with the latest technology in graphic design, game design and 3D animation. This program goes beyond the basics and gives Club members the tools needed for real world application. Using expert design programs and equipment, including a 3D printer and Oculus Rift development kit, students are able to see their imaginative creations come to life and prepare for future careers in several growing fields of design.
